Maggie Julian of Home Instead Senior Care discusses plans with committee members for this year’s “Be a Santa To a Senior” event. The nationally administered program is organized by Home Instead Senior Care and locally sponsored in part by CedarStone Bank and Summit Hospital. Needy senior adults are adopted by local volunteers to make their Christmas wish come true.

Gift items such as pajamas, toiletries, clothing and basic essentials are usually on the senior’s wish list and Julian expects over 500 senior adults will be served this holiday season. Christmas trees with “wish lists” for the senior adults will be on display at participating sponsors. CedarStone Bank’s Christmas tree will go up a little earlier this year in order to make sure all seniors listed on the tree get served.
