Get ready to move when Markey Blue cranks it up on the CedarStone Bank stage at the Hip Donelson Community Farmers Market on Friday night. Bandleaders Markey and Ric Latina are seasoned veterans as musicians and songwriters. 

“Feeling the energy and the spontaneity of our band in concert, and exercising the freedom we have to be creative on the spot, really electrifies us and the audience,” Markey says. “For us,” she continues, “Markey Blue is about putting the music we have in our hearts into the world. It’s also a constant way for Ric and myself to evolve as performers, writers and producers. The more our band play together, the more creative things become.”

On September 9, the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce celebrated their 90th anniversary with an open house at their office on the Lebanon Public Square. Sue Vanatta, President/CEO of the Chamber, and CedarStone Vice President John Bryan, Chairman of the Board for the Chamber, did the honors with the cake.

Ground has broken on the new Donelson Branch, and Willie McDonald is ready! Contractor Donnie Steed gave Willie his very own hardhat so he will fit right in on the construction site.

The new Donelson Branch will not only be great-looking but will offer customers many advantages. We’ve set up this special page on our website with the details of the Donelson Branch and we’ll update it as progress continues. We’re very proud to invest in the Donelson community with the new branch.

Several of our customers have received phone calls from what appear to be scammers. Please take caution and be aware that CedarStone Bank does not call people to request financial information over the phone.

How to Detect a Phone Scam
Only speak with official representatives of your bank or credit card company in phone calls you initiate. Do not respond to requests for financial information over the phone, by email, or by calling a number sent to you in an email. Do not click on links in emails to financial websites you do not recognize. If any of these situations arise, there is a good chance it is a scam. Read more here.

If you receive a call from someone saying they are from CedarStone Bank, do not give out any financial information; call one of our offices immediately. If you find fraudulent or unauthorized charges on your credit card bill, report them immediately. If you receive a scam call from someone who requests financial information in a way that appears to be a scam, contact the authorities.

Appearing on the CedarStone Bank Stage at this week’s Hip Donelson Farmers Market is Mike Cullison. An Oklahoma native who’s honed his songwriting skills with such royalty as Don Goodman (“Ol’ Red”; “Ring on Her Finger, Time on Her Hands”), Johnny Neel (the Allman Brothers) and Mike Stergis (Crosby, Stills & Nash), Cullison describes his style as “roadhouse blues and country roots-rock.” But his influences are as vast as the early rock ‘n’ roll his mom adored and the classic country his dad preferred; he draws deeply from that well, along with other Americana styles.

The Wilson County Fair is in full swing, and it offers something for every age and interest. On Monday, Bob and Susan McDonald had a great time helping serve at the Senior Citizens Picnic in the Fiddlers Grove area of the Fair.

Police Explorers and Kiwanis Club Team up in Mt. Juliet

On July 29, the Kiwanis Club of Mt. Juliet joined forces with the Mt. Juliet Police Explorers to clean up the landscaping around the entry to the Mt. Juliet Middle School baseball field. The Kiwanis Club provided the landscaping material and the Police Explorers put in a lot of hard work planting flowers.

The Mt. Juliet Police Explorers are a group of 12 teenagers who are receiving an education about police work with real-life scenarios. They participate in city special events, ride-a-longs and community service work alongside actual Mt. Juliet Police Department officers. One goal of the Mt. Juliet Explorer Program is to give these teenagers an opportunity to be leaders in the community. The Kiwanis Club of Mt. Juliet is focused on improving thelives of children in the communities they serve, and they enjoyed this opportunity to assist the Explorers in their endeavors.

After working to beautify the community, the Kiwanis Club and the Police Explorers enjoyed lunch catered by Missy Johnson at Mirko Pasta at the new Mt. Juliet Police Headquarters. After lunch, Chief James Hambrick, also a Kiwanian, provided a tour of the new facility for all the participants.

Kat’ Lee Jones is a singer-songwriter from Belgium, now making her living in Nashville, and she’ll be appearing on the CedarStone Bank stage at the Hip Donelson Farmers Market on Friday, August 8. Accompanied by her guitar , she brings her songs with a lot of compassion, emotion and strength.

Kat’ Lee’s music can best be described as a mixture of country and Americana, with a strong influence of traditional country. She discovered her knack for country a few years ago and immediately set off to write her own collection of songs that suit her and her voice best. Whether she plays an acoustic set in front of just a handful of listeners or a major stage in front of thousands, she always delivers a strong performance.
